James Baldwin

The animation of James Baldwin is part of a longer hybrid and video production. The quote comes from Raul Peck’s documentary, I Am Not Your Negro. In this project, Baldwin’s words are integrated in a longer learning module about the Black presence and expression of Black humanity in the face of racism.

John Lewis

In the project, we centralize African American leaders and thinkers as we pose questions about our shared humanity, race, and equity. This animation is homage to John Lewis’s journey of “getting into good trouble.” We invite participants to take the journey of getting “uncomfortable” to upend racism in education.
